Watching television these days can be a trying experience. Every September all the networks roll out new shows to entice the viewing public.
Remove the schlock, and you may be lucky to find a handful of shows that you find interesting. Nevermind what you find entertaining may be schlock to others!
Well, one of my new favorite shows, Journeyman aired it's last episode. Haven't heard of it? Unfortunately, most of the viewing public didn't. Journeyman fought it's battle up against CSI-Miami, and lost.
Shameless plug time. If you're curious, go to NBC.com and you can watch full episodes online! What makes this show outstanding - it's character driven. And, you may not be a fan of the sci-fi genre, but don't let that dissuade you. You'll come back because of the wonderful storytelling that goes on.
13 episodes were produced. The hope? NBC would order 9 "back half" episodes to complete a full season order. NBC did not.
So, now Journeyman's fate hangs.
Last year, CBS had a series Jericho on it's schedule. After one year, the network decided to drop the show. Then came the viewer reaction. Shipments of peanuts flooded CBS offices. Spurred by a line from the tv show - fans mobilize and showed they believed in Jericho's future. Jericho will be returning to the CBS schedule in 2008.
Now, fans of Journeyman are displaying their affection for the show. Journeyman is set in S.F. So, boxes of Rice A Roni are being delivered to NBC offices in NYC. Do miracles happen?
It's Christmas. Everything is possible.
